About this role
The Associate Director, Logistics will lead logistics projects across Carrier's Business Units and Regions globally, including the implementation of Logistics Systems (Transportation Management Systems and Warehouse Management Systems).
Key Responsibilities
Oversight and governance of 3rd party warehousing operations including initial business requirements, competitive sourcing, and implementation
Lead projects to implement new warehouses, increase automation and improve productivity
Stay up to date on logistics industry trends and technologies and identify breakthrough opportunities for cost reduction including digital transformation for warehousing and transportation
Promote the Carrier Excellence for Warehouses program, leveraging best practices, standard procedures, performance, and innovation across all BU locations and operating regions
Incorporate emerging technologies and business trends in logistics, transportation, and distribution/ warehousing into the strategic plan
Maintain regular reviews of metrics and trends, improvements, and variances with all stakeholders. Guide and drive BU operations leaders on improvement opportunities
Clear and thoughtful communication with all team members including effective reporting to executive leadership
Provide guidance on the future of logistics operations based on Carrier Corp.’s global logistics strategy
Foster operational excellence by adopting and implementing business best practices leveraging; people, process, and technology
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and customer service
Manage logistics costs within budget and achieve year over year improvement targets
Drive standard work procedures and reporting across facilities and regions
Support logistics transportation procurement for all modes
Embrace and promote the Carrier Way (vision, values, culture) internally and externally to create a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusivity
Leverage data analytics and business intelligence to monitor operational performance and identify optimization opportunities
Must adhere to all Carrier rules and codes of ethics
Support supplier corrective actions with Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and work transfer/transition processes
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
10+ years of experience in warehouse and transportation operations
5+ years of experience leading change management and efficiencies in an industry with large logistics spend, across multiple complex distribution channels
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration
Extensive knowledge in the areas of warehousing and transportation optimization methods and tools
Experience with warehousing and transportation optimization methods and tools (TMS, WMS)
Experience managing and developing people
Experience and ability to effectively communicate with a senior leadership
Experience with data analytics including MS Excel, network modeling and Business Intelligence reporting tools
Ability to deal with ambiguity and shifting operational priorities
Ability to inspire teams to accomplish tasks and project objectives
