About this Role

The Product Manager will be responsible for creating and delivering the product strategy for Carrier Controls and its key customers. The Product Manager is a critical and comprehensive role within Carrier’s fast-paced and growing OEM markets. The position will achieve and exceed product and business growth targets while simultaneously driving improved quality and customer satisfaction. Key objectives will include responsibility for product roadmaps, product definition, product realization, sales growth, and financial analysis.

This role reports to the Associate Director, Strategic Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prioritizing projects and identifying opportunities of improvement to enhance Product Management performance

  • Collects and analyzes macroeconomics, industry and target market information to forecast market size

  • Conducts competitive product and service analysis, and market research of product consumer behavior and professional audience to develop product requirements and specifications

  • Oversee research and analytics to support and contribute to the development of marketing strategies

  • Coordinates or participates in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services

  • Identifies, develops, and implements near-term and mid-term business strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies, services, follow-on products, and/or industries to ensure profitability and positioning in the market

  • Initiates and prioritizes projects, tracks product/service development and develops product/service launch plans to effectively manage a product or service category's life cycle and ensure profitability

Additional responsibilities include

  • Serve as a Technology expert to ensure profitably and growth while maintaining a satisfied customer base

  • Lead significant customer interface with equipment teams to capture current and future product needs. Convert identified needs into innovative solutions and product roadmaps. Conduct financial analysis and projections for proposed products

  • Benchmark competitive products, adjacent industries, and new technology trends.

  • Ensure programs perform successfully by establishing the necessary requirements and overseeing program plans. Continuously measure progress and adapt / manage work plans for marketing, engineering, quality, and supply chain deliverables associated with your responsible product line

  • Measure, evaluate, analyze and achieve profitability and sales forecasts for existing products, comprehensively supporting the financial planning and analysis function of the business unit. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 + years of experience in Product Management or Product Marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development and execution of product strategies for HVAC and refrigeration controls for global customers.

  • HVAC / Refrigeration Controls and electromechanical solutions

  • Creation and execution of product strategies

  • System engineering

  • Financial projections, pro forma financial analysis, and payback / NPV calculation

  • Customer communication, support, and care

  • Leadership effectiveness across departments and functions

  • Project and program management
