The Kidde business is a part of the Fire and Security Products group at Carrier. We are dedicated to providing products and technology designed to protect people and property from the effects of fire and its related hazards. As a large manufacturer of fire safety products, Kidde meets the safety needs of homes and businesses by providing fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, strobes, and other products.

About this role

The Master Scheduler - SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) at Kidde Safety is responsible for coordinating and managing the production schedules to align with customer demand, inventory levels, and overall business goals. Develop and maintain the master production schedule, balancing supply and demand while optimizing resource utilization. Key duties include collaborating with various departments such as production, procurement, and sales, conducting capacity planning, and driving process improvements to ensure efficient operations. Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, proficiency in forecasting and ERP systems, attention to detail, and effective communication for cross-functional coordination.

This is a hybrid role (4 days at the office /1 day at home) in Mebane NC. The Master Scheduler - SIOP will work closely with the Mexican manufacturing site and the Mebane Warehouse Pack-to-Stock operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve target customer fill rates while adhering to business inventory targets
  • Lead inventory projects to improve the inventory turns
  • Work closely with factories and suppliers to drive down cost & lead times and foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Drive factory/supplier on-time delivery to 95 percent or higher
  • Push target production and schedule attainment
  • Actively work and support the factories, warehouse, and packaging buyers, i.e., address material shortages; delay issues to fulfillment of open purchase orders
  • Ensure the business has accurate visibility to delivery dates on open orders from factories
  • Interact closely with Customer Service; ensure necessary, accurate information to set realistic expectations with customers
  • Publish netted forecast bi-monthly to factories and weekly work orders to the warehouse
  • Maintain planning systems data integrity (pricing, lead times, service levels, delivery dates)
  • Compile and analyze data to identify opportunities for improving material replenishment
  • Participate and engage in business and system transformation projects
  • Support reporting and presentations to leadership and stakeholders
  • Develop standardized processes for materials planning and SIOP; utilize business resources and meet customer expectations for delivery
  • Prepare planning capacity and fulfillment demand with plant manufacturing operations
  • Engage with the manufacturing team and develop monthly production volume planning, i.e., business forecast, inventory position, and actual customer orders

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of supply or production
  • 2+ years of Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain or Engineering
  • APICS certification
  • Supply Chain planning techniques and inventory management i.e., MRP/MPS
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • JDE or similar ERP system
  • Data analytics and PowerBI
  • High level of urgency, problem-solving techniques, and customer-oriented
  • Analytical, data management
  • Communication on all levels in the organization
  • Spanish and English language skills
