About this role

The Carlyle Compressor group in Carrier’s Commercial HVAC division is seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for the Summer of 2025.  The Carrier internship experience offers an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy.  You will learn and apply skills in thermodynamics, manufacturing, supplier quality, and mechanical design.  You will grow professionally to become knowledgeable on failure analysis of compression technology and manufacturing methodology.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in troubleshooting compressor performance and field issues
  • Support the failure analysis process through evaluation of factory and field product returns
  • Engage with Engineering Change Control process to review 2D drawings for product improvement
  • Assist and work closely with lab personnel to execute laboratory test plans
  • Assist and work closely with global manufacturing and supply chain teams
     

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • GPA must be greater than or equal to a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, mechanical design and manufacturing with a focus on quality
  • Ability to solve challenging and complex customer requests
  • Strong organizational, familiarity with hand tools, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven and proactive
  • Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
