About this role
ALC in Kennesaw has an opportunity for a Logistics Technician who is responsible for coordinating, managing, and optimizing the movement of goods, materials, and supplies within the supply chain. Duties include inventory management, shipping and receiving, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely deliveries. The Logistics Technician will operate warehouse equipment, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety regulations/company policies to maintain efficiency in transportation and storage operations.
This is an onsite role in Kennesaw (7 am to 4 pm). Sometimes, overtime (paid) will be required to support production.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving
- Unload trailers, stage kits & or parts in the appropriate / designated locations
- Receive shipments into “Fourth Shift” ERP tool
- Identify the shortage of parts and how to fill the shortage
- Inspect incoming product by PO, packing slip, part number, quantity on order, address, and external/internal damage
- Notify purchasing through the “Receiving Issue” process of any non-conformance
Shipping
- Select correct parts from inventory shelves and set the staging area
- Package parts in appropriate cartons to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at destination
- Process shipment according to specific requirements as stated on the Pick Ticket using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or DHL online website
- Lift and stack cartons to the shipping dock for courier pick up
- Fill out pick-up tickets
Inventory Control
- Process and fulfill inventory requests
- Review Scrap for completeness of record and Process Scrap
- Count components by using scales, reel counters, label printers, and other counting devices
- Cycle count components and final goods
- Provide support for part discrepancy issues
- Identify and process “Control of Shelf Life” & hazardous materials and where to deliver them
- Ensure delivery of products (Waterspider) to support the continuous flow lines
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Capable of standing, reaching, bending, and lifting boxes to 50 lbs. throughout most of the workday in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
- Ability to adhere to all safety procedures and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Preferred Qualifications
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work with multiple priorities of the business
- Understand the “Fourth Shift” tool and have basic knowledge of MS Word/ MS Excel
- Able to read, write, and understand area Work Instructions (WI) and Quality Standard Processes (QSP)
- Maintain Quality Standards, QSP’s and WIs
- Certification to operate Forklift, hand-truck, or pallet jack
