About the Role
Global Category Manager (Strategic Sourcing) professional with significant international sourcing experience. Develops and implements network, supplier selection, and negotiation strategy in support of organization's standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Partners with internal clients and stakeholders in North America, EMEA, and Asia to identify sourcing needs and develop strategies.
The ideal candidate must be able to travel 10-25%, including internationally.
Job Description
Owns and develops elements of commodity management and strategic sourcing strategy for flow controls (Valves).
Position reports to the Global Category Leader (Valves).
Develops and implements supply chain strategies and develops networks that address capacity issues, production location decisions, etc.
Evaluates and selects suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of the supply.
Establishes negotiation strategies for contracting, and strategic direction for sources of supply.
Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and develop sourcing strategies.
Directs analysis of suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
10+ years' experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, drafting and negotiating supplier agreements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration
Possesses excellent written and verbal skills.
A blend of technical aptitude with high emotional and cultural intelligence
Manufacturing and product knowledge; valves and flow controls
Ability to read and understand product schematics and drawings
Experience managing supplier relationships at an executive level.
