About this role

The Compression Group in Carrier’s Mechanical Center of Excellence is seeking a motivated, result-oriented college student to join our team for the Summer of 2026. The Carrier internship experience offers an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy. You will learn and apply skills in thermodynamics, CAD Modeling, CFD analysis and mechanical design in both an office and laboratory work environment. You will grow professionally to become knowledgeable in the design and analysis of positive displacement compression technology and turbomachinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering software such as Cero and Ansys, CFX for CAD modeling and simulation.

  • Perform Vapor-cycle refrigeration thermodynamic analysis.

  • Assist and work closely with lab personnel to execute laboratory test plans.

  • Assist in troubleshooting compressor performance and field issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Computational Tools and CAD coursework or previous internships preferred.

  • Knowledge of mechanical design, troubleshooting and manufacturing processes

  • Self-driven and proactive

  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
