About This Role

As a Field Engineer Co-Op, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through assisting the field commissioning of building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for a team member who is self-motivated, detail oriented, and is customer focused. You will work on solving increasingly complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist to Initiate, install, troubleshoot optimize customer systems that utilize advanced Direct Digital Control technology.

  • Assist to provide turnkey project delivery on small to medium projects.

  • Assist to ensure that systems operate properly, to include controls, sensors, and software.

  • Assist loading software, configuring trends, alarms, and reports. 

  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Communicate and document the status and details of the project to the internal team.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Building Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science

  • 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

  • Valid and current Driver’s License/ reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Team player with a positive attitude. 

  • Competency with Microsoft software including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. 

  • Competent verbal and written communicator.

  • Aptitude for translating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.  

  • Able to balance multiple concurrent priorities. 

  • Aptitude for problem solving.  

  • Time management skills including the ability to estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline. 

  • Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
