About This Role
The Regional Consulting Sales Engineer is tasked with delivering pre-sales technical support and expertise to the specifying engineering community, sales team, and customers. This individual plays an integral role in identifying client requirements, effectively presenting product capabilities, and facilitating design solutions that address those requirements while supporting the organization’s strategic goals. The position demands a strong combination of technical proficiency, sales acumen, and outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
This position will also support other sales team members, local customer / engineering training and marketing initiatives. We are committed to providing consistent, accurate, timely, and professional customer service. Developing trust with new customers and outperforming competitor service levels to existing customers. The key metrics determining success are becoming the trusted technical advisor that results in improved product positioning and market share.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase features, benefits, and advantages.
Create and deliver compelling technical proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including answering technical questions and resolving issues.
Engage with engineering customers to gather technical requirements and assess their needs, and position Automated Logic as the basis of design
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure their satisfaction and to foster long-term partnerships.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure that solutions are feasible and meet customer expectations.
Stay up to date with industry trends, product developments, and competitive landscape within the market.
Provide feedback to product management and development teams based on customer insights and market demands.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ Years of Experience developing, selling, or engineering building automation systems or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years experience developing, selling, or engineering building automation systems.
Traveling up to 75% locally.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably either Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineering.
BAS or Controls experience in the consulting engineering space.
3+ Years Design skills with Engineering of BAS Systems.
10+ years of experience developing and engineering building automation systems.
CEM, LEED AP, and WELL AP accreditation or PE certification.
Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, other building systems, and IT networking/Integration – both in design and maintainability.
Ability to work within a fast-moving engineering design team.
