About this role
This position supervises a team of support and/or production level or hourly/direct employees in Plant maintenance. Sets day-to-day activities for the team of skilled traders, other maintenance employees. Must be flexible and open to 1st and 2nd shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the maintenance team to achieve operations, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals through training, coaching, discipline, and effective communications
- Champion the use of ACE tools to reduce downtime, improve quality, and achieve labor efficiency targets
- Model and promote adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies and initiatives
- Ensure safety is the top priority when assigning work
- Collaboration with the maintenance manager and engineering managers to prioritize project and maintenance work
- Monitor work order progress and drive quality and timeliness of completion
- Schedule preventive maintenance and project work across three shifts
- Create, modify, open and close preventive maintenance work orders
- Schedule work hours and overtime as required, meeting production goals, preventive maintenance work order completion, and engineering project work deadlines.
- Inspect assigned work for completeness and captures completion comments from skilled trades
- Develop standard work for various maintenance processes
- Maintain timecards and overtime records
- Maintain a working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement
- Good knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment across the disciplines
- Ability to lead a multi-discipline team both as a supervisor and in a technical capacity
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of experience with maintenance planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience leading a maintenance team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly prefer Associate, Technical Trade or relevant military experience
- Experience supervising union-represented employees
- Experience with machine/manufacturing equipment maintenance
- Ability to make suggestions and informed decisions quickly
- Technical background in skilled trades and or engineering
- Strong organizational, leadership, and time management skills
- Highly motivated with possesses superior follow-up and follow-through skills
- Able to motivate and lead employees
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Must be willing to work first, second, or third shift as well as required overtime
