Job Description

NORESCO is seeking an O&M Project Manager. We are seeking an individual that has Operations and Maintenance (O&M) experience with energy/utility assets. Systems include street lighting, smart lighting controls, load centers, and other energy infrastructure. This is a leadership role with direct reports.

About the role

As part of the Operations team manage service contracts focused on Streetlighting, load centers, and energy systems. NORESCO’s Operations and Maintenance Group is responsible for the oversight of subcontractor maintenance activities. As a project manager you will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with our customers and your team. The project manager will supervise technicians and provide oversight of customer subcontractors. The position may require support of the measurement and verification team through trend and data collection.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Leading/managing a team of technicians.
  • Ensuring direct report follow all safety and ethical policies.
  • Oversight of optimizing and maintaining activities of lighting systems and load centers.
  • Overall responsibility for assessing maintenance, reliability, and performance aspects of customer’s mission-critical streetlighting assets.
  • Oversee, scheduling, coordination, and execution of preventive maintenance, repair, replacement (MR&R) and inspection activities.
  • Leverages technical expertise from NORESCO engineering, construction, and operating staff, OEMs, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Safeguarding customer streetlighting assets are functioning as designed.
  • Recommends operational/design improvements to correct performance issues of customer assets.
  • Utilizes a wide range of approaches, tools, and techniques to determine root causes of operational problems and ensures problems are resolved.
  • Identify, manage, and minimize/eliminate operational risks that could adversely affect asset reliability.
  • Drives objectives and ensures all contract obligations are completed as prescribed.
  • Select appropriate training resources to educate site staff on customer streetlighting systems.
  • Work with NORESCO’s measurement and verification team to evaluate energy conservation measures (EMC) through equipment or system modeling and analysis.
  • Oversee the documentation and tracking of all maintenance activities in CMMS.
  • Oversee subcontractors working on MR&R activities.
  • Inspect equipment and meet with customers and subcontractors. Generate site inspection reports and action plans as required.
  • Interface with customer and their sub-contractors; address concerns in a timely manner.
  • Prepare inspection and monthly and quarterly project status reports that are well written and accurate.
  • Forecast and track project budgets. Explain budget variances and prepare monthly reports.
  • Maintain and update computer project folders and files in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of prior work experience in Operations or Maintenance or High School diploma / GED with 5 years work experience in Operations or Maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in a military/commercial/industrial maintenance and/or repair industry is highly preferred.
  • Prior people management experience is highly preferred as this role will manage a team.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to electrical systems and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of street lighting systems preferred.
  • Previous safety training; knowledge of safety procedures for electrical systems; ability to identify, mitigate/eliminate safety.
  • Hold a valid PMP Certificate or obtain within the first year of employment.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking skills required.
  • Candidates must possess proficient oral and written communication/presentation skills to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds.
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers; establishes and maintains effective relationships and gains the trust and respect of clients.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
