About this role

New product development electrical engineer. Designs electrical and electronic circuits to satisfy specified performance criteria following defined processes and methodologies. Creates and maintains detailed design documentation. Supports listing efforts and sustaining engineering issues as required. Works effectively with firmware, mechanical, and other cross-functional disciplines

Key Responsibilities

  • Design manufactural and testable electrical and electronic circuits to satisfy marketing requirements for new product introductions while adhering to schedules
  • Test and troubleshoot designs to ensure solutions meet functional and quality objectives
  • Follow existing processes and promote continuous improvement
  • Support Sustaining Engineering efforts as necessary

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of professional engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Analog and digital circuit design and analysis
  • 2+ years of experience with embedded system design and development
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and validating designs with circuit simulators such as PSpice
  • 2+ years of experience employing basic electrical test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers

Preferred Qualifications

Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-3 years professional experience
  • Experience writing firmware for embedded processors (while the job will not entail writing
  • Networking or wireless experience
  • An understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles
  • Experience designing printed circuit boards
  • Experience in the fire safety or other similarly regulated industry
  • A strong process orientation - Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus
  • Designing, building, and debugging programmable logic circuits
