About this role

Assist lead Project Engineers with tasks associated with design, documentation, and/or programming/graphics of building automation systems (BASs). Proactive communication with project team. Occasional project site visits to help gather information for BAS designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with design tasks for completion of building automation systems.
  • Assist with documentation of the BAS design (i.e. submittals) and revision control of the resultant documents.
  • Assist with site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system (using SiteBuilder).
  • Assist with programming of control algorithms.
  • Assist with development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems (using Eikon and ViewBuilder).
  • Assist with final documentation of the building automation system that incorporates all changes made since issuance of the submittal.
  • Clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and internal project teams.
  • Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
  • Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code of ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related fields
  • 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Competency with Microsoft software including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio (other CAD software acceptable).
  • Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
  • Able to balance multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Aptitude for problem solving.
  • Time management skills including the ability to estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline.
  • Competent verbal and written communicator. Aptitude for translating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
