About this role

Carrier Operations – Supply Chain is currently recruiting for a results-driven professional with a passion for supply chain excellence, who will function as the Senior Manager,- Commodity Management & Sourcing. The focus will be on the procurement of raw materials and fabrication of products using the copper commodity.

This is an individual contributor that will influence cross-functionally. The role will be onsite based out of either Palm Beach Gardens FL, Charlotte NC, Indianapolis IN, or Collierville TN.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage overall supplier relationships for top suppliers in the copper category
• Develop supply chain standards and networks; i.e., address capacity issues, production location decisions 
• Maintain ongoing working knowledge of market trends, key drivers of supply conditions, and cost structure along with any technology shifts
• Review and recommend suppliers to meet Carrier’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply 
• Establish and communicate the elements of the copper category management and strategic sourcing plans
• Create and implement strategies for negotiating contracts
• Ensure a competitive sourcing environment, drive efforts for dual qualification of supply, routinely quoting incumbent spend, and work with sites to ensure suppliers routinely challenged on cost
• Partners with internal stakeholders to assess current and future sourcing needs in terms of technology, cost, manufacturing, location and lead time
• Travel to suppliers and internal manufacturing locations to assess “ground conditions”, foster healthy working relationships, and deliver key messages to suppliers' leadership
• Project management activities including to build and create business

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 8 years plus of experience in engineering, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or business
• MBA
• Able to lead cross-functional teams
• In-depth knowledge of commodity markets, pricing trends, and supplier evaluation
• Negotiation and contract management skills
• Leadership and team management abilities
• Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making
• English verbal and written communication and sound interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management software
