About this role:

As an Area Engineering Manager for Automated Logic Corporation, you will be responsible for leading a team of both hardware and software design engineers through the design phase of construction projects, relevant service projects, and modifications to existing ALC BAS systems. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the execution of design, while strategically implementing engineering initiatives to improve processes and ensure consistent engineering deliverables and enhance the performance of the engineering team. This position will provide support to the Area Operations teams to help drive the organization’s commitment to operational excellence. In addition, this position will be responsible for collaborating with sales and operations throughout the estimation of projects and will need to communicate effectively with fellow employees, upper management, as well as external stakeholders.

This job can be located in Denver, CO, Albuquerque, NM, or Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all ALC Organizational safety and ethics standards are met.
  • Comprehend, analyze, and interpret construction plans and specification documents.
  • Plan, organize, and direct engineering teams to ensure an accurate engineering package is deployed for each project.
  • Coordinate and manage all area engineering work, including hardware drawing sets and correct and accurate software programs.  Ensure engineering tasks meet agreed-upon budgets and deadlines.
  • Assist Sales organization in meetings, scope reviews, and presentations, and be able to assist in value-added discussions to win projects.
  • Assist Sales organization in negotiation and estimation of new orders/contracts. Support sales with Key Accounts regarding customer interaction and overall planning process.
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships for products that enhance our engineered offering
  • Assist in developing Training and Mentoring plans and continuously assist in the training of new and current Software and Hardware Engineers
  • Participate in peer reviews, turnover meetings, post-mortem meetings, and close-out meetings as required on priority projects in your Branch.
  • Analyze and maintain a correctly sized workforce to execute forecasted project workload
  • Conduct effective interviews with engineering candidates and actively participate in recruiting
  • Assist operations in revenue and manpower forecasts.
  • Professionally represent Automated Logic in meetings and always be proactive in understanding the company’s best interest.
  • 20 % travel

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree
  • 3+ years of experience in Building Automation Solution Systems
  • 3+ years of experience in Programming BAS and Hardware Solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Business, Technical Degree, or related field
  • Experience Managing and Leading an engineering team
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills
  • Strong planning, forecasting, and presentation skills with proven product design and management skills
