OVERVIEW

This position will be directly responsible for accounting support for Carrier Corporations Field Service business unit, with field locations across the US. Responsibilities will include all field related accounting, analysis, and support. This role will report to the North America HVAC Controls & Services Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in and supervise the month end closing process inclusive of accurate supplemental data and other reporting
  • Approve monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Provide accounting support to field organization
  • Maintain accounting standard work documentation
  • Perform ASC 606 accounting functions and associated entries necessary for proper revenue recognitions or deferrals
  • Provide balance sheet/P&L fluctuation analysis
  • Prepare financial data (including HFM supplemental data) for Corporate Reporting
  • Develop knowledge of accounting systems to pull information for special ad-hoc projects as assigned
  • Ensure All financial reporting is in accordance with Policy
  • Participate in all compliance related items which pertain to Accounting operations/financial reporting including GAP Assessments, risks assessments and remediation.
  • Mentor and Development accounting team
  • Work with Operations to enhance processes
  • Participate in analysis around significant reserves, Bad debt, E&O, Warranty, Job Loss provisions and Physical Inventories.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5 years' minimum experience in Financial Accounting in a large corporate setting
  • CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Accounting principles and Internal Control procedures
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present recommendations effectively to management in both written and oral form.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP Applications and HFM.
  • Attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to solve business process issues.
