About the role
The Associate Director, Tax Reporting, will support the Director and Executive Director of Tax Reporting and Compliance in achieving required quarterly, yearly, and forecast tax reporting for SEC filings, external and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities
- ASC 740 reporting, including all requisite analyses, disclosures, and management communications
- Year-end closing process and provision to compliance integration
- Assistance with preparation and tie out of the income tax sections of all SEC filings
- Annual tax plan and quarterly reforecasts/ETR updates
- Manages the NonUS tax provision review process with the finance contracts
- Provides tax provision system training to global users
- ASC 740 application with respect to transactional activity
- ASC 740 review with external auditors
- ASC 740 process/software continuous improvement
- SOX controls/testing requirements relating to function
- Coordination with the Carrier Tax Risk & Advisory group to account for the impacts of uncertain tax positions
- Coordination with the Carrier Tax Transfer Pricing group for application of TP in the tax provision
- Forecast, plan & year end analysis of the foreign rate cost or benefit
- Oversight of the NonUS return to provision process with external contractors
- Manages 2-3 Carrier employees and/or contractors
- Responsible for providing primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and reward decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 8 + years of experience with ASC 740 in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment
- 3 + years of direct managerial responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced tax degree would be a plus
- CPA certification or jurisdictional equivalent
- Operative understanding of tax cycle from planning through audit
- Ability to understand complex tax concepts and apply those concepts to minimize taxes
- Working knowledge of all major areas of tax law affecting Carrier
- Understanding of the impact of taxes on financial statements, and ability to combine tax and accounting knowledge to improve business results
- Ability to resolve complex technical issues, and recognize the need for and seeks out internal or external subject matter expertise
- Excellent understanding of tax provision system

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is $178,750. – $250,250. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
