About this role

Manages the execution of Quality Assurance operational plans. May lead a team of primarily intermediate to experienced Quality Assurance professionals or a team responsible for Quality Assurance for a smaller organization. Sets objectives and guides team on the achievement of short-term Quality Assurance goals. Manages the implementation of Quality Assurance plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Manager and Technical Writing Team to keep service literature up to date and review and support new manuals as required for new products.
  • Create Service Bulletins (warranty related as well as informative standard works) for the field service organization to help reduce field issues.
  • Customer support (internal and external through Customer Gateway).
  • Based on warranty data or customer feedback resolve 19/23 series projects using appropriate standardized problem resolution methods (Carrier Way, Lean, Six-Sigma, Red-X) to improve product and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities to mistake proof designs to reduce ppm and warranty spend.
  • Ensure “quality” is built into new designs by working with the engineering teams. Participate on DFMEA and PFMEA as required.
  • Provide technical support for Territory Service Managers and Service Engineers.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Travel to National Service Manager’s Meeting and participate in presenting technical information to customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience with centrifugal and screw chillers systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • In depth experience with centrifugal and screw chillers systems: Carrier product preferred.
  • Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Operations within a manufacturing facility, with a proven history of influencing others in a cross-functional matrix environment.
  • Solid positive attitude and effective communicating skills with a proven ability to forge solid business, inclusive and diverse relationships.
  • Experience with quality core processes, systems, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Robust skills on data manipulation, interpretation and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
  • Familiar with GD&T methodology and electrical diagrams
  • Experience with 8D problem solving techniques
  • Experience with ASME pressure vessel codes
  • Experience with reading electrical/electronic diagrams
  • Experience with software trouble shooting
