Carrier Climate Solutions (Residential) (Residential Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) at the Collierville, Tennessee factory is primarily involved in the production and assembly of residential HVAC systems. Carrier’s Collierville plant is focused on manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance for our residential HVAC products.
About this role
The Associate Director Strategic Materials Management is a site-level leadership role in Collierville, Tennessee, who is responsible for overseeing material planning, strategy, and execution of daily operations.
The position is pivotal in ensuring seamless coordination across internal and external supply chain functions, including:
- Internal materials operations
- Supply chain planners
- External suppliers and logistics partners
- Carrier’s broader Supply Chain organization
- Site manufacturing teams

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute material planning strategies aligned with site and corporate objectives.
- Team Leadership: Manage direct reports, including planners and materials operations employees.
- Supplier Coordination: Interface with external suppliers, 3PLs, and logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective material flow.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Compliance & Process Management: Ensure adherence to Carrier’s Supplier Quality Manual and Quality Management System for Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP)
- Budget Awareness: Ability to manage headcount/ salary budgets, and internal raw WIP inventory departmental budget
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6 years plus experience in leading materials or supply chain operations, within a manufacturing environment
- 2 years of experience in managing a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree in engineering, supply chain, or business
- Material Resource Planning (MRP) experience i.e. SAP
- Ability to analyze data, forecasts, and production schedules to make informed decisions
- English communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Familiarity with technical documents related to materials and production processes, thorough knowledge of material planning and scheduling
- Effective leadership and team management skills
- Ability to address material shortages, optimize schedules, and resolve production-related challenges
- Ensure accurate material planning and scheduling

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is $178,750. – $250,250. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
